TRAIN THE TRAINERS (TTT)

Objective: To provide participants with opportunities to apply theoretical methods and develop practical skills and techniques necessary to perform training tasks related to Peace Operations.

Participants: Commissioned officers at the entry-level rank to Major (or equivalent) and NCOs from Staff Sergeant and above, preferably serving to join the organizations of the different elements to be deployed during a PO. Foreign officers designated by their countries according to bilateral agreements. Civilians belonging to Governmental or International Organizations or NGOs

Language :Spanish, training materials (bibliographical and audiovisual) in English.

Requirements: Experience in peace operations preferred but not mandatory.

ADVANCED TRAINING ON COMMUNICATIVE STRATEGIES IN ENGLISH FOR PEACE OPERATIONS / ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS IN PEACE OPERATIONS (ELSPO)


Objective:
To provide students with the necessary strategies for the development of language skills aiming at a better performance in communicative situations when meeting the demands to integrate a Peace Operation.

Participants: : personnel from ATF 58 and 59.

Language :English.

Requirements: English level ( submit certificate of achievement, if possible): According to the Common European Framework of Reference: Level A2 (Pre-Intermediate) According to the language school belonging to DEADIA: Level 2 STANAG 1111

PROTECTION OF CIVILIANS (POC)

Pre-registration: a month before start date at caecopazcursos@gmail.com

Objective: To explore the concept of protection of civilians in a scenario-based training, in order to understand the policies that determine the undertaking of the tasks by the personnel to be deployed in missions with a mandate to protect civilians

Participants: Active military personnel ; Commissioned officers in the rank of Captain to Lieutenant Colonel (or equivalent) and Senior NCOs preferably with experience in peacekeeping missions. Foreign officers designated by their countries according to bilateral agreements. Civilians belonging to Governmental or International Organizations or NGOs with a university degree in related fields (Law; International Relations; Social Sciences; Political Science).

Language :Spanish, training materials in English.

Requirements:Peace Operations Training Institute (POTI) course; certificate of completion of the Introduction to the UN System course must be submitted five days prior to the start date. Experience in peace operations, preferred but not mandatory.

UN CIVIL-MILITARY COORDINATION (CIMIC)

Pre-registration: a month before start date at caecopazcursos@gmail.com

Objective: To develop strategies, skills and techniques related to joint planning in order to improve daily coordinated tasks in complex scenarios, their impact on military and civilian activities.

Participants: Commissioned officers in the rank of Captain to Lieutenant Colonel (or similar). Staff Sergeants and above under UN standards. Foreign officers according to their countries´ bilateral agreements. Civilians holding a university degree related to the topic of the course, working in governmental or international organizations or humanitarian related NGOs.

Language :Spanish, training materials (bibliographical and audiovisual) in English.

Requirements: “Peace Operations Training Institute” (POTI) course. Certificate of completion of Introduction to the UN System course must be submitted five days prior to the start date.

HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING FOR JOURNALISTS

Pre-registration: a month before start date at caecopazcursos@gmail.com

Objective: To provide participants with the basic theoretical methods and practical techniques necessary to perform their tasks in hostile contexts and post-conflict areas. Besides, participants will be dealing with conflict resolution skills to tackle confrontational or critical situations. The training and strategies acquired aim at navigating a potential hazard situation like refugees in dangerous or belligerent areas while carrying out their journalistic work.

Participants: Media workers and Armed Forces personnel serving in social communication areas. Foreign officers designated by their countries according to bilateral agreements

Language :Spanish, training materials (bibliographical and audiovisual) in English.

Requirements: Participants must be under 50 years of age. Applicants must submit every medical record required by the officers in charge of the course and will also be given a personal interview by CAECOPAZ specialists prior to it.

Objective: To provide the participants who will be serving on a peace operation mission as Staff Officers with updated theoretical contributions and practical techniques within the framework of the Argentine Peace Operations.

Participants: Commissioned officers, in the rank of Captain to Major (or equivalent) and NCOs, WO2 to Staff Sergeant and above, eligible to be deployed to a Peace Mission. Foreign Officers according to bilateral agreements

Language :Spanish, training materials (bibliographical and audiovisual) in English.

Requirements: Previous UN mission experience preferred by not mandatory

TECHNICAL FRENCH COURSE FOR PEACE OPERATIONS – ELEMENTARY LEVEL

Pre-registration: a month before start date at caecopazcursos@gmail.com

Objective: To train participants in basic level language practices including specific military terms frequently used in oral and written communication within the framework of Peace Operations.

Participants: All ranks of the military and police personnel including civilians holding positions related to PO issues. Foreign officers designated by their countries according to their countries´ bilateral agreements.

Requirements: Elementary French Language Level up to A1 . Experience in peace operations preferred but not mandatory.

“CRUZ DEL SUR” OPERATIONS JPF (Joint Peace Force)

Pre-registration: a month before start date at caecopazcursos@gmail.com

Objective: To provide participants with both general and specific theoretical methods and techniques of the organization, operation and probable deployment of the Combined Peace Force "CRUZ DEL SUR" within the framework of a United Nations Peace Operation.

Participants: Personnel recently assigned to the Joint Armed Forces component "CRUZ DEL SUR". Chief / Junior Officers assigned to the "CRUZ DEL SUR" component, in a JPF (Joint Peace Force) post.

Language :Spanish

Requirements: Experience in peace operations preferred but not mandatory.

TRAINING IN HUMAN RIGHTS IN PEACE OPERATIONS

Pre-registration: a month before start date at caecopazcursos@gmail.com

Objective: At the end of the course, the participant must be able to: -Apply practical theoretical strategies for the protection and monitoring of Human Rights in Peace Operations that are developed in a UN Field Mission. -Increase professional knowledge to advise the chain of command in the application of strategies related to Human Rights.

Participants: Active Military Personnel; Officers in the ranks of Captain to Lieutenant Colonel (or equivalent) and Senior NCOs preferably with experience in peacekeeping missions. Foreigners designated by each country according to bilateral agreements.
Civil personnel graduated from university careers related to the subject of the course who are working in Government or International Organizations or humanitarian aid NGOs.

UN LOGISTICS

Objective: Increase Specialization knowledge in the area of United Nations Logistics applied to Peace Operations.

Participants: Active military personnel : Officers in the rank of Captain to Lieutenant Colonel (or equivalent) and Senior NCOs preferably with experience in peacekeeping missions. Foreigners designated by each country according to bilateral agreements.

Language :Spanish, with bibliographic and audiovisual material in Spanish and English

Requirements: Experience in peace operations: desirable, not mandatory.

TECHNICAL ENGLISH FOR PEACE OPERATIONS - INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

Pre-registration: a month before start date at caecopazcursos@gmail.com

Objective: To train participants in intermediate-level language practices that include specific military vocabulary frequently found in oral and written communication in the framework of Peace Operations.

Participants: Open to all ranks of the military and police personnel as well as civilians, related to POs issues. Foreign officers designated by their countries according to bilateral agreements.

Language :Spanish with teaching material in English

Requirements:English Level 2 (up to level 4) certified by the Army Language School; or its equivalent, level A2 (up to B1) of the Common European Reference Framework. Experience in UN missions, preferred but not mandatory.

CURSO INTERNACIONAL DE OBSERVADORES MILITARES / UNITED NATIONS MILITARY OBSERVER COURSE (UNMOC)

Objective: Train participants to perform tasks in a Peace Operation Mission so that they can: - Comply with the military aspects of the Peacekeeping Mandates in accordance with the principles and guidelines of the Department of OP (DPO). - Carry out their military functions in an effective, professional and integrated manner. - Understand and apply the fundamental values and competencies of the United Nations.

Participants: Active Military Personnel in the rank of Captain to Lieutenant Colonel (or equivalent) suggested by the Armed Forces and / or designated to carry out missions as Military Observers, Liaison Officers and Inspectors in UN missions. Foreigners designated by each country according to bilateral agreements.

Language : English.

Requirements: English Level 5 certificate of achievement from the Army language school of language (Navy and Air Force certificates should score 80 points). Foreigners level B2 of the Common European Reference Framework certified by the Force. Experience in peace operations, desirable, not mandatory. Course of "Peace Operations Training Institute" (POTI). Certificate of completion of the Introduction to the United Nations course must be submitted 5 days before the start of the course.

COURSE ON DISARMAMENT, DEMOBILIZATION AND REINSERTION IN UNITED NATIONS PEACE OPERATIONS (DDR))

Objective: To train participants in the introduction to the use of planning strategies and execution of disarmament, demobilization and reintegration programs in conflict zones to enhance security

Participants: Active Military Personnel: Officers in the rank of Captain to Major (or equivalent) and NCOs from Sergeant to Chief NCO, preferably designated to integrate the organizations of the elements that will be deployed during a PO. Foreigners designated by each country according to bilateral agreements.

SEMINAR- UPDATE ON GENDER ISSUES; WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY))

Objective: To provide participants with relevant and updated information on a gender perspective in Peace Operations to address the conceptual and contextual issues involved in a multidimensional United Nations Peacekeeping Operation. The course emphasizes the need for women to play a strategic role in all levels of decision-making in regional, national, and international institutes and mechanisms.

Participants: All ranks of military and police personnel related to the topic of the seminar in a professional or academic way and eligible or intending to be deployed in a peace operation. Foreign officers designated by their countries according to bilateral agreements. Civilians belonging to Governmental or International Organizations or NGOs, with a university degree in related fields (Law; International Relations; Social Sciences; Political Science).

Language :Spanish.

NEGOTIATION IN PEACE OPERATIONS

Objective: To help participants develop the necessary strategies to facilitate negotiation in complex scenarios, with culturally-shaped interlocutors, combining the socio-economic problems with those specific to a peace operation.

Participants: Commissioned officers in the rank of Captain to Lieutenant Colonel (or equivalent), Staff Sergeant and above. Foreign officers designated by their countries according to bilateral agreements. Civilians belonging to Governmental or International Organizations or NGOs with a university degree in related fields (Law; International Relations; Social Sciences; Political Science).

Language :Spanish, training materials (bibliographical and audiovisual) in English.

Requirements:English Level 5 certified by the Army Language School (IESE). Air Force and Army (Score: 80 or above) Foreign officers, level B2 certified by The Common European Framework (CEFR). Previous UN mission experience preferred but not mandatory.
