Note: Due to the global health crisis that has affected classes in the classroom, we propose for this year, French courses that will be, mainly, on-line, both in the delivery, as well as, in the practice and assessment. These courses will be designed in a way they will be easily adapted to the classroom in case the Pandemic evolves favourably. Taking into account the heterogeneity of the students at CAECOPAZ, as well as their unsteady assignment to their postings in the centre, three types of courses will be offered, suitable to each level and personal situation so that every student can profit from the classes.

Modality: VIRTUAL (it may change according to the Pandemic stages)

Coordination: idiomascaecopaz@gmail.com

Beginner Course (A1):

Beginner students with little or no knowledge of the language, this course will allow them to reach an introductory level of French (A1 of the CEFR), but oriented to professional situations in a military context. 80 hours. It consists of 5 modules, each one is delivered in two weeks. Students will be able to take them separately (except Module 1) in a flexible schedule, according to their own availability. By the end of the two weeks, the student will get a certificate of attendance to the module. To approve a module, the student must attend classes (6 meetings/ 2 hours each) and comply with most of the activities. In addition to the 6 hours a week with the teacher, students can work 2 extra hours by themselves to go deep in the contents.

Those students who pass 4 or 5 modules will be considered to take the international exam that grants the DELF certification (Diplôme d'études en langue française), issued by the French Ministry of Education, and that validates their A1 level.

DELF training workshop:

Throughout the school year, review and practice classes of the contents covered in the previous modules will be offered to those students who have taken or are taking any of the modules of the Beginner Course, as well as a training workshop in the DELF international exam event.

Conversación workshop:

We offer a dynamic and interesting conversation workshop for intermediate and advanced students of French (A2 +). Each month, we propose a current topic (cinema, languages, literature, games, health, food, etc.) around which the different meetings will be organized. In each class, we will deal with the theme of the month from different authentic materials (press articles, comics, excerpts of stories, poems, songs, videos, advertisements, radio broadcasts, short films, etc.). They will serve to liven up the debate and conversation, and will also allow students to review or learn some point of the functioning of the language, whether it be grammatical, lexical or phonetic. We will also work with writing exercises or activities. Each 2-hour meeting - two are proposed per week - is independent of the rest, only related through the monthly theme. Therefore, students can attend alternately, according to their availability, without this altering the progression of the course or generating a commitment beyond the meeting itself.
